Tinuay-an Falls, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur.

From around 35-45 minutes habal-habal (skylab, single motorcycle) ride from Mangagoy Bislig City, passing through a quite bumpy road under the mostly cloudy sky comes the 95 meters high and 55 meters wide Tinuy-an falls - which is commonly refer to as Niagara of the Philippines. Composed of three main layers which are all magnificently veiled with plunging white water curtains. Indeed it was huge and only then I realized how huge it was.

The weather is quite cold, the water is tempting, yet I was worried I won't be able to catch our way to Hinatuan on time so I decided not to take a dip to avoid taking so much time because I might just enjoy and forgot about the limited time.

Aside from site seeing, swimming  and dipping in cold water you could trek up to the highest layer of the falls which will reveal another two beautiful layer with a bird's eye view of the lower levels. Trekking to the last layer would only cost you a generous amount of donations for the guides who are indigents on that area.

Expenses to Tinuy-an falls:
  • Habal-habal ride/head/way - 100.00
  • Entrance fee/head  - 50.00
  • Cottage fee   - 100.00
  • Donation for trekking  - XXX.00
  • Food and drinks   - 130.00 (brought from Mangagoy)
Tinuy-an Falls is located in Burboanan, Bislig City, a one hour ride from Mangagoy. Bislig City on the other hand is also known as the The blooming City by the Bay and you would know why once you've travel this place and hit the long coastal road with astonishing views of their bay.
